According to Reuters, yesterday at an industry conference in San Francisco, Mark Pincus, CEO of Zynga, said that despite the success of the FarmVille game, he remains wary of investing in the development of games for mobile platforms.

In his opinion, the fact that development companies should invest heavily in mobile games is obvious (proof of this is the acquisition in March of this year by Zynga of the American game studio OMGPOP for $ 183 million), but his company’s profile is focused on online games.  “We invested a lot of money in mobile development, created a good team and products, and also made one acquisition.

But I don’t think now is the right time to develop games for mobile platforms,” Pinkus is sure. Thus, Zynga may move to mobile game development only in a few years.

Recall that CityVille and FarmVille social games brought Zynga $1.1 billion last year.
