The other day, Zynga announced that it was closing almost all assets related to OMGPOP, which it bought a year ago.
This did not come as a surprise, since the employees of the New York studio announced their dismissal last June. Now Zynga has officially announced this.
According to the press release, the company also intends to close the site OMGPOP.com and stop supporting the following studio games: Cupcake Corner, Gem Rush, Pool World Champ and Snoops.
Zynga will not close Draw Something, Draw Something 2 and Draw My Thing yet.
According to Techcrunch, former OMGPOP employees wanted to buy the rights to their website and games from Mark Pincus’ company, but they were denied this opportunity, saying it would require too much legal work.
Recall that in March last year, Zynga acquired OMGPOP for $ 180 million.
