Microsoft’s service – My Xbox Live – transformed into Xbox SmartGlass on iOS devices tonight. Thanks to the official update.
Happy Xbox 360 owners who have installed (or received an update) the SmartGlass application on an iPhone or iPad will be able not only to interact with their Xbox Live account, but also with a particular game.
The following example is given on PocketGamer: if you have a box with the game Forza Horizon, you can use the iOS gadget right during the game as a route map. Apple devices will also be able to perform the functions of a remote control or keyboard for Xbox 360.
The latter, in theory, should untie the hands of MMO developers who will be able to transfer their creations to consoles without fear that players will not be able to chat in them. Such a service will also closely link consoles and mobile devices, which, in the future, can lead to very interesting results.
The Xbox SmartGlass service is also available to owners of Android and Windows Phone devices.
