Disney games based on the new cartoon studio “Ralph” – Wreck-It Ralph and Fix-It Felix Jr. – are in the American application tops. Moreover, Wreck-It Ralph hit the box office top without micropayments with a price tag of $ 1.

Advertising movies with game applications with the same characters and in the same worlds is already a familiar thing for Hollywood. And over the past year, Disney, as James Nouch notes on the pages of PocketGamer, has already become a real professional in this matter.

Temple Run: Brave

This summer, for example, the company, together with Imangi, released Temple Run: Brave, an almost complete copy of the free Temple Run for $0.99, in which, instead of an unnamed adventurer, the player controlled a red-haired Merida fleeing from a bear.

The game has shown and continues to show excellent results in the world markets. In particular, it reached the honorable third place in the American top of paid iPhone applications. Moreover, Temple Run: Brave is still in the top twenty paid apps in the UK market.

It was easy to assume that by releasing its new tape, Disney would want to consolidate its success in the mobile market.

By the way, Frankenweenie was deprived in this regard. The company timed the release of the game only with a pack for “Swampy” and a creepy photo application.

“Ralph”

On October 29, the Wreck-It Ralph cartoon was released on world screens (our film is called “Ralph”).  On November 1, the day before the premiere of the film in the USA, Disney released two games based on it at once (in fact, as many as three, but Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe is not really a gaming application): Wreck-It Ralph for $0.99 and a free Fix-It Felix Jr.

Wreck-It Ralph is a collection of three arcade games: Hero’s Duty, Sweet Climber and Fix-It Felix Jr. As for Fix-It Felix Jr., this is a cropped version of the arcade game from Wreck-It Ralph (yes, everything is so complicated).

Despite the confusion in the names, Wreck-It Ralph has been ranked first in the top paid American iPhone apps for the third day and is included, despite the lack of IAP, in the top twenty American apps for the same device. As for Fix-It Felix Jr., it is now in the top ten free American iPhone apps.

And, in principle, there would be nothing to be surprised about, if not for one small, but very important detail: Wreck-It Ralph reached the 19th place in the top grossing without IAP on one IP of the film.
