A small study by the analytical company PriceGrabber showed that most Americans want to get a tablet as a Christmas gift. Moreover, tablets for the first time bypassed conventional personal computers in these indicators.
59% of respondents answered that they would like to receive a “pill” as a gift for Christmas. Apple devices are the most desirable: 63% would like an Apple tablet of the third or fourth generation and almost a quarter of respondents (24%) want an iPad Mini as a gift.
Significantly fewer Americans want to receive devices from other vendors as a gift: 22% want Samsung Galaxy Note Tab, 20% – Amazon Kindle Fire HD. As for the new Microsoft Surface, only 13% of respondents want it so far.
Budget optionAs the vice president of PriceGrabber Rojeh Avanesian notes, the growing popularity of tablets as a gift is associated with the appearance of inexpensive devices in this segment in the price range of $ 200 – $300.
If we separately consider the budget versions in the rating of Christmas gifts, then the iPad Mini occupies the leading position – 45% of respondents preferred the compact model of the tablet from Apple. Almost half of the respondents from these 45% explained that they liked the mobile size of the device, and 38% want to buy it for the new year because of the low price.
A little more than a quarter of Americans (27%) want to receive an Amazon Kindle Fire HD as a “budget” Christmas gift. In third place with 19% at once 2 devices: Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire.
