South Korean publisher and developer Wemade may well become one of the central stars of the mobile market this year. The company’s revenue from the native mobile market only for the 4th quarter of 2012 increased by 280% to $8.87 million.

Moreover, Wemade itself entered the mobile market only in the 2nd quarter of last year, but already in the 3rd quarter it earned $ 2.3 million.

In total, the Korean publisher has released about 10 projects in less than a year. The main hit was the cartoon match-3 about the green bear Candy Pang, whose downloads amounted to 10 million.

Success has been preparing for a long time. Wemade, which also deals with client MMO and games for Facebook, began investing in mobile games for the first time back in 2010. Now, out of 1,500 employees of the company, 800 are engaged in “mobile”.

The company plans to expand into the Chinese and Japanese markets.
