Unity will soon become a publisher of games, and will also launch its own cross-advertising grid.

This became known at the Unity 2013 event that opened yesterday in Vancouver.

The company’s executive director, David Helgason, announced the creation of the Unity Games publishing division. It will be, according to Helgason, a “developer-friendly” publisher. It will help developers with the production, marketing and distribution of games (and not only in mobile markets).

The first games published under the Unity Games brand will appear on iOS and Android this fall. One of them will be the RPG Archangel from the Japanese Black Tower Studios (see screenshot).

Also at the conference, Unity announced the imminent launch of the Unity Cloud service. It will allow Unity developers to exchange traffic among themselves.
