Nielsen recently published a study according to which 62% of American mobile users aged 25 to 34 have smartphones; at the same time, half of smartphone owners are people aged 18 to 24.

The popularity of smartphones among the younger generation is evident: 53% of mobile device users aged 35 to 44 are smartphone owners; 38% of people aged 45 to 54 use smartphones; 30% – in the 55-64 age group and only 18% of people over 65.

Nielsen data suggests that there is a large market for manufacturers such as HTC, Samsung and Apple, which could become absolute leaders in them, focusing on the older generation.
