In 2013, the 1 billion gadget on the Android platform will be shipped, according to the global information company IHS.
According to the company’s forecast, shipments of Android smartphones will amount to 451 million devices next year. As for this year, shipments, according to IHS experts, will reach the mark of 357 million gadgets. If the forecasts come true (or the growth rate of shipments will be higher than planned), then by the end of next year, the total shipments of Android-based devices will amount to more than 1.1 billion devices.
For comparison, the total shipments of iPhones, according to IHS, will reach a similar value only in 2015 (in 2013 they will amount to “only” 527 devices). By this time, there will already be about 3 billion gadgets based on the Google platform in the world.
