The degree of smartphone penetration in the United States in the third quarter of this year was 70%, according to analysts at NPD, and also share the names of the most popular smartphones in the States.
Back in the second quarter of 2012, the penetration rate of smartphones in America reached only 66%. In July-September, it grew by as much as 4%. And here the main driver was the sale of Android devices.
Yes, thanks to their increase, Google’s mobile platform now occupies not 59%, but as much as 63% of the entire American smartphone market. Apple’s share, in turn, is “only” 31%.
