On the official website of the Tizen project, supported by the Linux Foundation, a message appeared about the release of the SDK and source code of the second version of the Tizen mobile platform, codenamed Magnolia.

Compared to Tizen 1.0 and Tizen 2.0 Alpha, the current version contains a large number of improvements and new features.

Among them, it is worth mentioning additional system APIs to support Bluetooth and NFC, a new native framework and an improved web framework with the HTML5/W3C API.

I must say that such a giant as Samsung is interested in the development of the Tizen platform, and in terms of finding ways to “reduce dependence” on Android, it is also developing this direction. Moreover, this year the Korean company plans to release smartphones based on Tizen. It is quite possible that such devices will be demonstrated next week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
