The companies Protection Technology Resech and StarForce conducted a small survey among developers of Android applications. The purpose of the study is to find out the relevance of the threat of piracy for business development.

It turned out that among Russian developers, the problem of piracy on Android is relevant for half of the respondents. 52.1% of developers noted that there is a problem or it “is more likely than not.”

As for foreign ones, this issue is much more acute for them. Almost two thirds of developers – 61.76% – called the piracy problem urgent.

A total of 105 developers were interviewed, most of whom make games in Russia. If it weren’t for a small sample and the presence of at least some guarantee that each of them is a separate studio or company, and not five or six large ones, based on it, one would assume that those who develop f2p and those who make paid/freemium applications at the moment, conditionally, an equal number.
