The analytical company Nielsen has collected information about the most popular Android apps for three age groups.

The other day, Nielsen presented a study of three main age groups that are the main users of the Android platform in the United States: from 18 to 24 years old, from 25 to 34 and from 35 to 44 years old. The purpose of the study was to identify the most popular applications on the platform among each of the groups. The study was conducted on the basis of data from smartphones whose owners agreed to participate in the company’s projects. There is no information about the exact number of participants, Nielsen analysts only note that there are “thousands” of them.

The time interval of the study was thirty days. The figures that Nielsen received turned out to be interesting, because it turned out that the preferences of the groups almost do not differ from each other. Nevertheless, there were differences.

For example, the Facebook app is more popular among groups 18-24 and 25-34 – about 80% of representatives of these groups actively use the Zuckerberg app. On the other hand, the Angry Birds game is most popular in the age category – 35-44 years, where 35% of users play it. In the younger group – 25-34 – play Angry Birds less – 29%. As for the youngest – the 18-24 group – only 22% of Android users play among them.

Despite the fact that there is still a difference in preferences between age groups, it is not as big as one might think. In addition, getting acquainted with the results of the study, it is necessary to remember that most of the applications that are in the top here are, as a rule, the main tools in working with Android. So, for sure, the most interesting results are much lower than the top “fifteen” presented by Nielsen.
