In terms of revenue, the Russian market is on the 10th place in the world – right after France, Distimo said in its 2013 results.

Results of the year according to Distimo:

1. Google Play revenue has been growing very actively throughout the year. In November 2013, it already accounted for 37% of the total revenue from the App Store.

The App Store’s aggregated revenue grew by 12% worldwide from June to November. Google Play revenue growth for the same period was 51%. The total revenue of the stores increased by 24%.

On average, last November, the global total revenue of the top 200 cash applications in the App Store per day was about $18 million. Google Play blockbusters earned $12 million each.

For comparison, in November last year, the top App Store apps earned $15 million, and Google Play – $ 3.5 million. As they say, feel the difference.

2. The top ten countries by revenue looks like this today:

By the way, at the moment, the data for November is already a little outdated. Japan is now in the first place.

South Korea showed the highest growth rates. Its market grew by 759% from January to November of this year. Russia was in fourth place with 125%.

3. In 2013, free-2-play became the absolutely dominant monetization model in the mobile market.

Now it accounts for 92% of App Store profits and 98% of Google Play profits. So do not be surprised at the sideways glances at the word “and we have a paid application”.

4. Along with the growth in the number of users, applications quickly began to gain a solid number of downloads. One million installations in a couple of days – now this is far from a problem for market leaders (competitions for ten million per month have begun).

5. The number of downloads from the Amazon Appstore in some cases has become correlated with the number of installations on the App Store and Google Play.

For example, of the total downloads of the game Where’s My Water 2 from the App Store and Amazon Appstore in the States, 33% came from the Amazon platform.

6. The Finnish game Clash of Clans from Supercell earned the most money among all applications by the end of the year.

7. None of the apps released in 2013 made it into the top ten in the App Store. There are four of them in the top 10 on Google Play.

8. The only paid application in the cash top of the App Store is Minecraft.

9. Most of the top publishers in the App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore are game developers.

10. Asian markets showed the greatest growth at the end of the year. In addition, it turned out that this market is open to Western products.
