Employees continue to leave Zynga. According to the Polygon news site, Brian Reynolds, the chief game designer at Mark Pinkus’ company, recently left it.
Brian Reynolds gained the greatest fame working with the legendary Sid Meyer at Firaxis. He was the lead designer of Sid Meier’s Civilization II and Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri, founded the company Big Huge Games, known for the Rise of Nations series of games, and since 2009 has worked within the walls of Zynga, first as the chief designer of the Boston studio, and then as the chief specialist in game design.
Brian Reynolds has joined a very extensive list of key people of Zynga who left the company last year, including the creators of Words with Friends Paul and David Bettner, chief marketing officer Jeff Karp, vice presidents Bill Mooney and Brian Birtwistle, chief Operating Officer John Schappert (John Schappert) and many others.
The company’s financial results for the fourth quarter of 2012 will be announced on February 6. Then we will find out how things really are at Zynga, which many people managed to put an end to in the summer.
