The other day at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco, the creator of OpenFeint, Jason Citron, spoke about his startup Hammer & Chisel. The studio’s first project will be the MOBA game Fates Forever, developed specifically for the iPad.
Jason Citron believes that major game developers have not yet appreciated the potential of tablet games. Citron has enough “motivation and talent” to invest money and efforts in this rapidly developing sector of the mobile games market. Therefore, the Hammer command & Chisel will create games exclusively for iPad.
The first game of the project is Fates Forever, which we have already written about earlier. In the game, two teams (each with three players) fight each other. Citron himself called the iPad game “League of Legends for tablets”.
Eight developers are doing the project. The game will be released this year.
Recall that two years ago, the founder of the iOS gaming social network OpenFeint sold the platform to the Japanese giant GREE for $ 104 million.
