RIM Canadians have finally released a ready-made development kit for the tenth version of their operating system. At the same time, photos of the company’s new device got online.
Yesterday, the final version of the BlackBerry 10 SDK was released, a complete package of tools for those developers who believe in the future of the dying platform. “Ten” supports C/C++, HTML5 and Adobe AIR. Also, the developers of the system assure that it is very easy to port applications developed for Android to it.
At about the same time as the SDK was released, unofficial photos and videos (!) of a new RIM gadget running on BlackBerry 10 appeared on the Vietnamese Tinhte resource. The device looks very cool, subtly resembles an iPhone 5 with a screen diagonal of approximately 4.5 inches. The OS on the video works briskly, similar to iOS with Android widgets.
The official launch of the BlackBerry 10 platform will take place in less than two months. RIM itself claims that interest in the platform is increased. So, among the company’s partners, more than 70 are already engaged in creating applications for the updated platform. These include Fox Sports, MTV India, Picstory, Viki Video and Hot Remit.
Whether the company will be able to regain its greatness or at least not fall into the abyss, we will see in six months. Fingers crossed?
