This is the opinion of the senior vice president of Telltale Games, Steve Ellison. In an interview dedicated to the release of the iOS version of The Walking Dead game series, the resource Pocketgamer.biz he stated that consumers prefer the quality of products to the price.

So he expressed confidence that those users who buy “The Walking Dead” (by the way, five episodes are expected in total, the first of which is already available on the App Store) will get a lot of pleasure from the game, and the price of $4.99 is quite suitable for a product of this class.

According to Ellison, the opinion that owners of iOS devices prefer games for 99 cents is more of a myth than a fact. And the main incentive for purchasing a product is not the price, but its quality and “depth”. According to him, this is evidenced by the excellent results of the first days of sales of The Walking Dead. The game is in the top positions in many tops and receives positive feedback from users (Steve seems to have forgotten that the project was made according to an extremely popular franchise).
