Peter Relan, one of the founders of OpenFeint, has launched beta testing of the OpenKit platform, designed to “equip” mobile games with cloud data storage, a multiplatform results table and integration with social networks.

Commenting on the launch of the beta test, Relan noted that one of the most important features of the new platform is its “openness”. Developers, if necessary, will have no problems with finalizing the source codes and porting OpenKit to other platforms.

Relan and his colleagues created OpenKit precisely as an open-source toolkit, since they themselves already had a negative experience working with “closed” software. Recall that in 2011 GREE acquired their OpenFeint development for $ 104 million, and then in December last year closed this service.

According to Relan, developers reacted very vividly to the message about OpenKit. About five hundred developers have already expressed interest in this platform. 30 developers have already received access to the closed beta, 20 more are in line.
