The last working week pleased mobile users with three high-profile game releases at once. Marvel has released a three-dimensional project about the Hulk in the Avengers universe, Gameloft has revealed the theme of “Gothic” on mobile devices, and Zynga has shown where the match3 genre should evolve.

Green Man

Avengers Initiative is an essay on “How I Met Infinity Blade” from a small Chicago–based Wideload Games team. The composition is diligent, in some ways even original. After all, it was still necessary to think of such a thing – take a huge green-skinned man, find enemies to match him in a thick pile of old comics, blow away the game mechanics from the creation of Chair Entertaimnet and mix them up.

The funniest thing that worked. However, the game at other times resembles the craziest Marvel releases, in which, for example, Spider-Man and Galacticus meet. The ability to customize the Hulk, hang iron armor or a white beard on him only enhances this general, slightly psychedelic picture.

Marvel put a big price tag on the game – $ 6.99. The project has already appeared on iOS and on some Android devices. The list of the latter, by the way, is very small, literally 20 devices.

Wild Blood

Wild Blood game has no place on mobile devices. The colorful slasher from Gameloft, somewhat reminiscent of the Piranha Bytes creations, has too high a pace for touch devices. To control the stick and simultaneously press the attack key on the smooth glass of the tablet is an occupation that smacks a little of masochism. However, over time it even starts to like it, especially considering the tub of pathos poured on the player.

But there are pitfalls here, it’s worth getting used to the game, putting up with disgusting Russian fonts (those who localized the project – tear off their hands), how it ends. The epic story turns out to be too short for a full-fledged adventure for a solid $6.99.

As for the game engine (recall, this is the first project of the French on the Unreal Engine), then if there were no loud announcements from Gameloft itself, it would hardly be possible to guess that the Epic creation is beating in the chest of the project. Bright, angular, not at all gloomy, as originally planned, Wild Blood is visually too similar to the previous N.O.V.A.3, despite the swords, castles and magic.

Squares with friends

Gems With Friends is, without nodding and scraping, an imposing reinterpretation of Triple Town. Only there are no bears here, and instead of funny houses and bushes there are colored crystals with digital values. The problem is that Zynga, having copied the mechanics, did not figure out how to simply and intelligibly make a tutorial. Because of this, the first ten minutes the player is forced to read detailed explanations of how to play, which is somewhat infuriating.

Otherwise, Gems With Friends, which also lacks the features of classic match3 like Diamond Dash, leaves a very positive impression. However, this is typical of all the latest games released by Zynga. The same three-dimensional FarmVille 2, which appeared on Facebook the other day, is beautiful.
