Last summer was the season of the Temple Run clones, this threatens to become the season of the “ideological heirs” of Clash of Clans. About his first competitors – in our material.

Clash of Clans

Despite the fact that the Finnish project started last summer, only this winter it became clear that there will be many followers of the Finnish Supercell. As often happens in the industry, at first they only looked closely at the Finnish project. Taught by the bitter experience of Draw Something, the developers were in no hurry to copy the new mechanics. However, in January, when the company’s daily revenue reached $ 1 million, it became clear: Clash of Clans is “serious and for a long time.” And if so, then it was possible to take on a similar project ourselves.

Clash of Lords looks good only in static

The first clones began to appear in June-July. There was no point in talking about them separately. Cheap crafts like Dragon Empire:Defense, Clash of Lords and League of Shadows: Clans Clash were made by strange people whose copying skills leave much to be desired. However, this did not prevent the first two projects from overcoming the bar of 100 thousand downloads. Moreover, now Clash of Lords has appeared in the American Google Play in the top 50 free apps.

But that was just the beginning.

After the budget projects, really big projects came from unknown teams. Firstly, Gameloft has introduced a three-dimensional Total Conquest, which looks, to put it mildly, luxurious. Secondly, domestic Mail.ru Games rolled out Jungle Heat, a literal, but at the same time very neat clone of the original creation of Supercell.

Total Conquest

And today it became known that the creators of the popular mobile MMORPG Arcane Legends and Pocket Legends from Spacetime Studios have launched their interpretation of Clash of Clans in Canada and Australia.

Their project is called Battle Dragons. It is aimed at a more casual audience than “clans”. Recall that both Clash of Clans and its clones are primarily focused on midcore users.

Battle Dragons

The second key feature of Battle Dragons is in a wide social toolkit. Spacetime Studios decided to repeat the experience of “farm” games, which today, due to the popularization of the just mentioned midcore, is undeservedly forgotten.

Friends in the new game can help in the construction of the base, accelerate the construction and collection of resources. In addition, when attacking the bases of “friends”, you get all the “buns” that you get when attacking enemies, but friends do not receive penalties.

There is also a “sandbox” mode in which the user can test the protection of their own database. Plus, judging by the video, the game has expanded the “protective” functionality.

We, in turn, can’t wait to see what other clones of Clash of Clans will be released on the markets in the near future, and it’s also very interesting whether there will be a game that will make a worthy competition for the Finnish project.
