In recent weeks, Disney has been under constant fire from network critics. The reason is simple. Mickey Mouse closed the iconic Lucas Arts, and with it a couple of potentially strong projects based on Star Wars. As it turned out, they criticized in vain.

I would like to hope that there will be no more trashYesterday, The Walt Disney Company and Electronic Arts announced the signing of a license agreement, according to which EA received exclusive rights to create games in the Star Wars universe for “hardcore audiences on all interactive platforms and in all popular genres.”

Disney has reserved the rights to develop games in this universe for mobile and social platforms. The animation company will also be able, if desired, to develop its own online projects.

Considering that Disney turns out cool mobile games (Where’s My Water?, Where’s My Perry?), and DICE and Bioware have already started creating games in the world of “Star Wars” for EA, we can say that this deal is just what the Lucas franchise needed for a long time. The latest games “based on” Star Wars left much to be desired.
