Managers of one of the most successful mobile gaming companies decided to start from scratch by founding a small indie studio called Wormhole Games.

The sale of a company to a large partner is not only millions on its own account, but also the loss of independence, as well as part of the employees. For Funzio, which GREE bought for $210 million in 2012, Vice President for Business Development Jamil Moledina and Product director James Kelm became such a loss, among others.

As it became known today, both decided to devote themselves to indie development, founding their own company Wormhole Games, which will create hardcore projects for tablets.

That is, just what Funzio, which they left behind, was doing before the deal with GREE.

The studio promises to release the first project in the second quarter of 2013 on iOS. This will also be followed by an Android release. The guys are not planning to release the project under Windows RT or Windows 8 yet, using standard phrases about the great potential of the platform.

The studio currently consists of six people and is funded by friends and relatives of the developers.
