In the second quarter of this year, the share of tablet shipments from the total number of computers shipped was 22% (for comparison, in the first quarter of the year, this figure was 19%).
The analytical company Canalys estimated that the total number of shipped devices (PCs, laptops and tablets) in the second quarter of this year amounted to 108.7 million. Of these, tablets accounted for 24 million, i.e. almost 22%. At the same time, Apple itself managed to deliver 12 million iPads in the second quarter, which is half of the total number of “tablets” shipped over the past quarter.
In general, according to analysts, the level of shipments of tablets, as well as their share in the PC market, will only grow.
