Sega has announced its new initiative, the Sega Alliance, aimed at supporting independent studios developing mobile games.

In the latest financial report of Sega Sammy Holding, there was a decrease in demand for video games for home consoles, therefore, the company currently adheres to a strategy of shifting focus to digital and mobile.

As part of the new initiative, Sega will assist independent developers in the marketing and production of games, as well as advise on “creative issues”.

The first partner of the Sega Alliance program was the Boston studio Owlchemy Labs. Her new iOS game called Jack Lumber has already been released under the auspices of the Sega Alliance.
