The creators of Angry Birds have published a detailed financial report for the past year. According to him, the company’s revenue for 2012 amounted to €152.2 million (or about $ 195.2 million).
This is 101% more than it was in 2011.
Profit before taxes amounted to €76.8 ($98.5 million) – 64% more than a year earlier.
Net profit, in turn, amounted to €55.5 million ($71.1 million). In 2011, it was at the level of €35.4 million ($45.4 million).
About 45% of the Finnish company’s revenue came from the sale of consumer goods. This segment of Rovio has tripled in volume over the year.
In May last year, the total number of downloads of the company’s games reached the crazy mark of 1 billion. Now this figure has exceeded 1.7 billion. In December 2012, the total MAU for all platforms was 263 million.
“Rovio has grown from a phenomenon into a very successful global business,” said Mikael Hed, Executive Director of Rovio, in connection with the publication of the financial report. – “In 2010 we started building an entertainment company and after years of significant growth, we are already close to achieving our goal.”
