Rovio announced at Gamescom 2012 that its new studio in Stockholm will be headed by one of the authors of Battlefield Heroes.
Oskar Burman, a veteran of the gaming industry, who previously led one of EA’s online divisions, the Easy studio specializing in F2P shooters, became the head of the Swedish division of Rovio. For example, Easy has developed games such as Battlefield Play4Free, Battlefield Heroes, Battle Forge and Lord of Ultima. Burman himself also had a hand in the Just Cause series of games.
It is not known what exactly the Rovio division in Stockholm is doing. Given that its new head used to make mostly shooters, it can be assumed that the Finnish company (more precisely, already Finnish-Swedish) is going to enter the market of “big” games.
