Qihoo 360, which owns one of China’s largest Android app stores, earned almost $152 million in the second quarter.
BeijingThis is reported by Pocket Gamer with reference to official sources.
For the period from May to June of this year, the revenue of the Chinese company amounted to $151.7 million, significant for the Celestial market. This is 108% more than last year.
Of the mentioned amount, $60.9 million was for online PC and mobile games. Compared to revenue for the same period a year ago, the amount increased by an impressive 181%. Mobile games have become the main driver of growth.
The growth of the Chinese company’s net profit increased by 372% to $33 million.
For reference: the number of PC users of the company in June amounted to 461 million. This, according to Qihoo 360 itself, is 95% of the entire Internet audience in China. The number of users of the company’s mobile services is slightly less – 338 million people.
Strangely, as of June, Flurry had only 261 million active devices in China. Was I wrong by 100 million?
Anyway, we have a question: where will the revenue of China’s mobile gaming industry of $1.3 billion come from, which CocoaChina predicts by the end of the year, if one of the largest companies in this market has a little more than $60 million with PC and mobile together?
