The OpenKit open platform has become widely available, which has become a replacement for a similar OpenFeint product for iOS and Android developers. This service allows you to work with high score tables, achievements and social channels. The release is announced by PocketGamer.

The launch of OpenKit took place almost a year after the closure of OpenFeint, after which many social competitive elements disappeared from a number of popular mobile games for iOS and Android.

The creators of OpenKit say that this will not happen with their service. According to them, this is the only platform that immediately supports Game Center, Google+ and Facebook. Players can compete with friends from different social networks, regardless of which device they use.

One of the first games with OpenKit will be the Pivvot action. Entertainment developer Whitaker Trebella praises the platform and its creators who provided support during the integration of the service. Since the start of beta testing of OpenKit, interest in the product continues to be high. Even Amazon has made this service compatible with GameCircle for Kindle tablets.

OpenKit is an open source project. Specialists can host the service themselves or place this responsibility on the shoulders of developers. In this case, they will have to pay a small subscription fee for the service (provided that the number of users exceeds a certain limit).
