CEO of the company Ouya Julie Urman (Julie Uhrman) in an interview with the famous resource Engadget said that new versions of the eponymous portable game console based on Android will be released every year.

According to her, the company’s approach is similar to that adopted in the industry of mobile gadgets. For this reason, such a solution looks logical, but there is a problem: consoles, unlike smartphones, are usually designed for a much longer service life. If there are both Ouya 2, and Ouya 3 and Ouya N, and each will be technically different, then what should developers do, and what should gamers do?

Fragmentation in the console market will not lead to anything good. Anyway, Urman noted that all new models will have backward compatibility.

Recall that the release of Ouya is expected in June this year. The estimated price is $100.
