Currently, the Unity engine is used by over 1.2 million registered developers. These and other statistics were published by the CEO of Unity Technologies, David Helgason, opening the Unite 2012 conference currently taking place in Amsterdam.
According to him, 53% of all mobile game developers use Unity. And in general, from 2 to 5 percent of software creators of all types have worked with this engine over the past 30 days. Curiously, about a third of developers building their projects based on Unity are based in Asia. Helgason also noted that about 200 companies have already “tasted” Unity 4. By the way, a beta version of the new engine was released yesterday. In total, according to Helgason, 300 thousand developers show monthly activity.
