Microsoft plans to hold a press conference in New York on September 23. For the first time, journalists will be able to see second-generation tablets based on Windows 8.
According to rumors, the design of the new tablets – Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 – will differ little from last year’s models.
The Surface Pro 2 will have 8 GB of RAM and Intel’s latest Haswell mobile processor. The Surface 2 tablets will have a 1080p display and a Tegra 4 processor from Nvidia. Both devices will receive more “tenacious” batteries.
As it became known from sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, there will be no presentation of another branded Surface Mini device at the press conference. It is expected that along with tablets on September 23, Microsoft will present an updated version of Windows 8.1.
