The Korean company LG is well prepared for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. On the first day of the event, she announced the purchase of webOS, support for Firefox OS and her attitude to Windows Phone 8.

18 months after HP stopped supporting the TouchPad tablet, LG completely bought the rights to the open source mobile system. The first information about the Korean company’s plans for webOS, we recall, appeared back in October 2012.

However, according to TheNextWeb, LG does not intend to release mobile devices on it. The company acquired it for use in its “smart TVs”. The fact is that Koreans are afraid that Google’s OS may in some way limit the capabilities of their TVs or affect the “user experience” of using them.

At the same time, it became known that LG, along with ZTE, already supports another mobile system, namely Firefox OS. So it is possible that in the summer we will witness the appearance of Korean smartphones on this platform.

Plus, LG’s management in Barcelona hinted that it was no longer going to create smartphones for Windows Phone 8. Officially, of course, everything sounded a little softer. A representative of the company said that in the near future the company has no plans to sell devices on a mobile system from Microsoft.

We want to give customers what they want,” one LG employee said in an interview Cnet.com . In Windows Phone 8, judging by his words, users are not interested. “When there is a significant market here, we will join it,” LG added.

And, by the way, Samsung will release the first device on Tizen in July or August. The company is now throwing a lot of effort to support him, but is not yet ready to promote him.
