The authors of Candy Crush Saga accuse competitors of copying two of their extremely popular games.
According to King, the Chinese 6waves borrowed the “look and spirit” of Pet Rescue Saga and Farm Heroes Saga when developing Treasure Epic and Farm Epic, respectively.
“6waves were not just inspired by King’s ideas, they copied the original designs and their appearance,” said Riccardo Zacconi, executive director of King.
Representatives of the Chinese company refuse to admit their guilt. In their opinion, such puzzle mechanics and settings cannot be protected by copyright.
Just below is King’s official appeal to the court, which details those game elements that were borrowed by the authors of Treasure Epic and Farm Epic.
