Kiip, a mobile network that allows companies to reward users for virtual achievements with real prizes, has launched a fund for independent developers. The size of the fund is $100 thousand.
To begin with, what Kiip itself does, or rather its brainchild – the service of the same name.
The creators of Kiip themselves like to competeIts essence boils down to the following: a player passes a level or reaches a record result, and at this moment, when he is in a good mood, when he is literally jumping for joy, an advertisement is shown to him.
In this scenario, the probability of clicking on an ad is much higher than on a regular banner. In addition, advertisers can stimulate clicks by giving the user a particular product: a chocolate bar, a bottle of soda, and so on.
This approach allowed Kiip to attract $15.4 million of investments back in 2010. Since then, Kiip has also been regularly included in the list of the most successful and fastest growing mobile companies.
In 2012, the service, having decided not to limit itself to advertising activities, took up investing or, more precisely, organizing a competition among independent developers with a prize fund of $ 100 thousand.
A year later, the company decided to repeat the experience by re-launching the Kiip Build Fund.
So, the competition is open to all independent developers of mobile applications and games. Ten winners will receive $10,000 in cash and $5,000 in development tools from Kiip partners (among the latest Amazon, Urban Airship, Parse, Crittercism and Localytics).
