Kabam is going to close its browser title Imperium: Galactic Wars, which will lead to the dismissal of 23 employees of the studio located in Austin, Texas. The company intends to focus on mobile applications.

Kabam’s revenues, which appeared on the mobile market in 2012, have been growing since the company decided to reduce its presence on Facebook. Recently, the social network has begun to lose its appeal in the eyes of developers.

In June of this year, Kabam has already carried out the first series of layoffs, so the latest news once again confirms the company’s serious intention to develop in the mobile market.

“But Facebook is still very important to Kabam,” said Steve Swasey, vice president of corporate communications. “However, the games should be promising and have potential. Otherwise, we close them. Those games that can remain hits for a long time are appreciated.”

70% of Kabam’s revenue comes from mobile games, the remaining 30% comes from web applications.

Kabam recently received $38.5 million from Google Ventures.
