Official sales of the iPad Mini in Russia will start in mid-January, sources close to one of the major distributors of Apple devices tell Izvestia.

Domestic suppliers of Apple devices – MTS, Euroset, M-Video – do not provide such information. But, according to unconfirmed reports from one of Apple’s distributors, it is likely that the new product will appear on the Russian market on January 18-19.

This date looks plausible, given that in Russia the previous “apple” devices appeared as a rule 2.5-3 months after the release in the USA. Although it is not very logical, because by that time the New Year’s excitement will have subsided.

But according to the expert of the information and analytical agency “Mobile Forum” Alexey Boyko, Apple did not intend to hook this period, but wanted “the iPad mini to become market news by itself, and not as one of the gift options. Apple wants the device to “sound” as loud as possible on the market.”

Now an iPad Mini with 16 GB of memory and communication only in the Wi-Fi standard can be bought on the gray market at a price of 14 thousand rubles. In the USA, it costs $ 329, i.e. about 10 thousand rubles. It is very curious how much the device will “pull” from official retailers in January?
