Not so long ago, ESA (Entertainment Software Associations) published another report on the state of the US gaming industry. There was also something about the mobile market.
Not very much, really, but it was.
So, in 43% of American families where there are smartphones, they play on them. This is a good figure, but far from ideal, given that the level of smartphone penetration in the United States, according to Kantar for the fourth quarter of 2012, was only 42%.
The second curious fact from ESA is the following: genres such as action, sports, strategy and role-playing are not particularly popular among American mobile gamers. What they really prefer to play can be seen on the chart below.
