At the beginning of the month, rumors appeared online that Huawei plans to develop its operating system for mobile devices. This data was officially confirmed by the head of Huawei Wang Biao (Wan Biao).
In his official interview with Reuters, Wang Biao said that the company’s resources are really aimed at creating a new OS based on the existing Huawei platform. Thus, the company wants to insure itself and stop depending on third-party software.
The only question that remains open is whether the company intends to bring the operating system to the market or whether it will be available only to Huawei itself.
Recall that Huawei now ranks sixth in the list of mobile device vendors, releasing Android-based smartphones (the company also plans to release smartphones for Windows Phone 8). According to forecasts, by 2015 it will take the third place and 15% of the market in terms of supplies.
