YoYo Games has announced that the new version of its GameMaker: Studio toolkit will allow developers to “export” their games (both new and existing) to the Windows Phone 8 mobile OS.

According to CEO Sandy Duncan, it will be easier for developers to master the new platform with the help of his tools, and YoYo Games technical director Russell Kay stressed that Windows Phone 8 may well become a real alternative to mobile OS from Google and Apple.

For GameMaker: Studio Professional users, the Windows Phone 8 module will cost $ 199, and those developers who already have GameMaker: Studio Master Collection in service will receive it as a free update.
