Gameloft has launched the Gameloft Live iOS app, which gives iPhone and iPad users access to the French company’s social gaming network.
In fact, the new application in many ways resembles something like Steam and Xbox Live. As part of the service, users can make new friends, chat with them, compete in the company’s games, brag about earned points and achievements. Registered users regularly receive news, as well as discounts on Gameloft products.
The new service not only adds a bit of sociality to the catalog of mainly single projects of the French mobile forge of blockbusters, but it is also used by it to cross-promote its own games. In the application store, both new games and those played by the user’s friends on this network are featured.
Gameloft Live uses a three-dimensional interface with avatars created by players and a virtual environment. Both can be customized by the user. For additional customization features, the Gameloft in-game currency is taken, which can be purchased for real money. The currency is also used to purchase games that are available as an IAP.
The Android application of this network was released back in February 2012. In six months, it was installed by 100 to 500 thousand users.
