The domestic company Game Insight announced the imminent release of its own three–dimensional runner – The Running Shadow project.

According to the official press release, the game “combines elements of a classic runner, RPG and dynamic combat system.” The developers also promise more than 20 characters, many locations, parkour and even a story about the mysterious Brotherhood of Shadows.

As can be seen from the first screenshots, the authors took Subway Surfers as a basis (there is a track divided into three parts, and not just a looping track, as in Temple Run), added a helfbar, enemy NPCs that need to be fought and seriously expanded the game inventory. If, for example, in the already mentioned Kiloo creation, the player could “turn on” only the board, then in The Running Shadow there will be at least two types of weapons and a bottle of “health”.

However, exactly how this works is still unclear.

Looking at the project, to be honest, we immediately remembered last year’s One Epic Knight. A year ago we wrote the following about him:

“The main innovation (compared to Temple Run) is the appearance of monsters and traps blocking the hero’s path. It is difficult to get around them, since they are not static: axes swing like pendulums, orcs run towards, cut, etc. Loot — swords and shields scattered around the dungeon helps to destroy or defend against them, if it is not possible to get around. The problem is that they are disposable: if you pick up one sword, you can only kill one orc.”

Perhaps The Running Shadow works on a similar principle.

The project will be released in early 2014 on the Android platform, and then on iOS.

UPDATE:

Game Insight General Producer Leonid Sirotin noted in a comment to our material that The Running Shadow has nothing to do with One Epic Knight.
