According to analysts of consulting and research firm Gartner, consumer spending on mobile apps and content will increase to $61 billion by 2016.

This is stated in her report on the prospects for the development of the global consumer IT market.

Its total volume, as predicted by the “visionaries” from Gartner, will reach $2.7 trillion by the end of 2016. This includes areas such as the mobile industry, computers, media and entertainment, as well as all related services. Moreover, the mobile industry will account for $1 trillion in 2016. As for consumer spending on mobile apps and content, $18 billion is projected for 2012, and, as mentioned above, by the end of 2016 this figure should grow to $61 billion.
