The preliminary results of last Christmas were shared yesterday by the marketing company Flurry. According to her, the total number of activations of devices on iOS and Android on December 25 amounted to a record 17.4 million.
This is 332% more than the average – 4 million installations per day – for the period from December 1 to December 20. Flurry recalls that last year’s Christmas high was a record at that time of 6.8 million activations.
The number of downloads has also increased. For both platforms, the growth was 112% compared to the average for the first half of December 2012: 328 million installations versus 155 million (since the morning, Flurry has recorded about 20 million downloads every hour).
The analytical company also found that approximately an equal number of smartphones and “tablets” were activated on Christmas Day. Until that day, the ratio was 1 to 4: 4 smartphones per tablet.
