Facebook is testing a new mobile advertising system that allows social network advertisers to place banners in third-party applications.
Very soon, users of iOS and Android mobile devices will be able to see Facebook ads in mobile applications that have nothing to do with the social network. According to Businessweek, Facebook hopes that with a change in the approach to mobile advertising, its profit will grow significantly.
According to eMarketer estimates, by the end of this year Facebook will receive $72.7 million in the mobile advertising market, and in 2013 its advertising revenue will increase more than 5 times – to $ 387 million. Although these figures do not prevent experts from believing that the network is increasing the number of users faster than its own opportunities to earn money from advertising.
