Facebook has launched a comprehensive Droidfooding program for the transition of its employees to Android devices.

Posters about the offer to employees to switch to Android OS hang in the walls of the Facebook headquarters building in Mente-Perk. The program has already received the name Droidfooding (from Abdroid and dogfood – to test your own products). A good reason for abandoning Apple devices is, according to the company’s management, statistics published not so long ago by IDC analysts.

According to their forecast, by 2016 the Android platform will become twice as popular as iOS. According to Gartner, by the same year Android, bypassing Windows, will become the most widespread operating system on the global market as a whole.

It is worth noting that officially Facebook does not force full-time employees to switch to the OS from Google.

But Facebook’s management also obliges 4 thousand of its employees to update their devices to the latest beta version in order to find bugs in the Facebook apps for Android and Facebook Messenger, according to the TechCrunch resource. If an error is detected, it is enough to shake the device so that it reacts to the current state, and a message to fix the bug will be sent automatically. This process is called Rage Shake.
