Zuckerberg’s social network has changed the functionality of application authorization. Now the user can grant the application access to his profile, but forbid posting posts on the wall.

What is the essence of innovation?

Since yesterday, when authenticating with his Facebook login, the user has separately ticked the box about granting the application or site access to his profile, separately about the possibility of these resources to post posts in his news feed. Access to all the “benefits” of the application is provided by the first jackdaw. The second one is optional.

In other words, we repeat, the user can use his profile in the application as he wishes, but at the same time he is able to prohibit any activity on the part of the application in it.

It is clear that for users, the innovation is something like a long–awaited salvation from numerous “left” entries on the wall. After all, authentication used to happen in one step. As a result, many users were unspeakably surprised to find traces of their own activity in this or that application on their wall. After that, applications were often erased.

Now this will not happen, only the virality may decrease.

The update introduced just yesterday affects only those users who use their social network profile to register in applications and on websites. The situation on Facebook.com remains the same.

Also, applications now necessarily ask for access to the management of advertising, events and notifications.

Facebook made all the changes on its own, there is no need to edit the code.
