As part of the BlackBerry Jam 2012, RIM not only introduced the new BlackBerry 10, but also boasted of a sudden increase in the number of users of its devices.
According to Thorsten Heins, executive director of RIM, at the end of the quarter, the number of users of RIM devices increased by 2 million and currently stands at 80 million.
Such data contributed to a sharp increase in the company’s shares by 5% (total $6.60 per share).
