Last Friday, Disney announced that Star Wars: Tiny Death Star is in development. Its creation is being done by the authors of Tiny Tower and Pocket Trains – the NimbleBit studio.
According to the terse announcement, users will play for the “dark side of the force”. The goal is to rebuild the Death Star, attract “bitizen” (bit–inhabitants) to it, and also contribute to the development of business in a galaxy far, far away.
In general, judging by the description, the mechanics project will be an exact copy of Tiny Tower. The only significant difference from the original is the popular “star” setting.
The release date has not been officially announced yet. They say that soon.
For Disney, this is not the first experience of cooperation with popular mobile titles. Last year, the company, together with Imangi, published Temple Run: The Brave, as well as Angry Birds Star Wars together with Rovio.
