Despite the continued growth of the mobile market, console gamers in the United States still spend more on games on physical media than smartphone and tablet users on their entertainment, according to NPD.
Unfortunately, the company does not provide accurate data, but the conclusion is unequivocal: “traditional game formats still dominate when it comes to net user costs for them.” However, as NPD notes, this happens due to the fact that relative amounts are compared.
According to the number of users playing on various devices, the mobile segment dominates. It is followed by 29%. How much exactly falls on other segments is not specified.
